Mens Vs Womens Running Pants
Slight differences in preferences for men and women
Both men and women go running in the winter and as such, it's just as important to find good womens running pants as it is to find good mens running pants. The question though is what is the difference between the options available for men and women? Oftentimes, there are not many differences, but it comes down largely to the preferences between men and women when looking for running pants.
From my experience, womens running pants tend to often be more form fitting than mens. Womens running pants seem to be tights or spandex more regularly, where mens running pants seem to be more loose fitting wind pants or nylon running pants. This could be the product of men preferring more space around their crutch and so, preferring something less tight than womens running pants.
However, it's important to note that both mens running pants and womens running pants can be made from spandex and be tight. These pants are usable by both men and women and are highly recommended for both because they are so warm. While there is some taboo around them for men, it is really quite silly considering their warmth. To get around this, it is just recommended that men wear a pair of shorts of their running pants as an additional layer of protection/covering.
Otherwise, running pants are very interchangeable between men and women. Buy what feels comfortable and what keeps your legs warm and don't worry so much about whether it's considered manly or not.
